Terms of service

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Scope

These terms cover your use of this website. They are not the terms of any piece of work we do for you.

Every engagement has its own written agreement — a proposal, a quote or a contract — and where that agreement and these terms disagree, the agreement wins.

Engagements

What you read here describes how we work; it is not an offer. Nothing is agreed until we have both confirmed the scope and the price in writing.

Fees shown on this site are indicative, exclude GST and any other tax that applies where you are, and are confirmed in the proposal for your engagement.

Use of the site

Use the site for what it is for. Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it, and do not use the contact form for anything other than a genuine enquiry.

We may block traffic that abuses the site, and we may change or take down anything on it at any time.

Intellectual property

The design, words, images and code of this site belong to us or to the people we licence them from, and the client work shown here is published with the client’s agreement. Do not reuse any of it without asking.

Work we build for a client is a different matter: as the engagement says, the code, accounts, documentation and domains are yours from day one.

Liability

The site is provided as it is. What it says is general information about what we do, not advice you should act on without talking to us first, and we do not promise that it is complete, current or uninterrupted.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site. Nothing here limits rights you have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act or any other law that cannot be contracted out of, and liability for work we are engaged to do is dealt with in that engagement’s agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. An engagement may name a different law or forum, in which case that agreement governs the work.
